All better now. I think it was more mental than real pain. I was working hard but stuck in the middle, and bummed for it.

I think I saw you on the second or third lap at the first set of barriers . . . you were trying to massage the pain out of your back? How's it feel today?

Cory, I'm so bummed for you. I was really looking forward to having a championship battle with you. It was looking like it was going to come down to the last race. Man that would have been great. Win or lose, I would have preferred to race it out.

There's video on youtube of two 1/23 racers maing the climb (around 1:25 into the video)! I also watched several guys successful ride over it during warm ups. But, I saw a lot of crashes, too. I tried twice and gave up!

I *hate* that wind shifts can happen in the plains. You work your ass off, pedaling into the wind for hours, holding onto the hope taht within hours you'll be able to enjoy a nice, strong tailwind. And it up and shifts on you. It's the closest you can come to riding uphill both ways.

But, like you said, it's good training, especially for tri-pansy cross-wannabes like me.

See you Sunday.
